Nile River Pollution in Cairo
EXCLUSIVE / 27.11.2016
Over 4.5 million tons of untreated “industrial contaminants” and 14 million tons of solid waste are dumped into the Egyptian Nile every year, according to The Egyptian Center for Economic Rights. A tremendous amount of sedimentation is present in the Nile River, which threatens the availability of water to the exponentially growing population of over 90 million Egyptians.
